Over Optimization and the OOP – Does a Penalty Exist?
Posted on Jul.17, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
If you have questions about whether or not the Over-Optimization Penalty (OOP) exists or not, then you obviously haven’t pushed the limits enough with your own website optimization or organic SEO efforts to have experienced the joys of running into the OOP (Over-Optimization Penalty).
I’m sure you’re probably thinking: “prove it”. If that’s what you’re thinking, let me tell you about a specific example of what I call the Over-Optimization Penalty, or OOP:
Over-Optimization penalty because of too much anchor text. You [...]
Arrogant Overture Placing Greed Ahead Of Their Customers Needs
Posted on Jul.15, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
According to the dictionary, the definition of the word “overture” is as follows:
“An opening or initiating move toward negotiations, a new relationship, an agreement, etc.; a formal or informal proposal or offer.”
Hmmmmmmmm…very interesting definition–especially that part about “a new relationship.”
I think pay-per-click giant Overture should look up the definition of their own company name, because they appear to be breaching their “relationship” with their customers big time!
Here are the most common complaints:
Suspicions that competitors are clicking on their listings just [...]

Well, sit forward because I’m about to tell you. The company name is “Car Spa” and here’s how I discovered their brutally effective referral strategy. I often go to Taco Bell to have lunch and read a book. I noticed a little [...]

Reasons Why You Should Have A Weblogger Installed On Your Web Site
Posted on Jun.03, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
I don’t know about you, but when I built my first web site three years back I don’t know anything about the webloggers. One day when I checking the features of my web host control panel (after two months of uploading my first home page) I saw the link ‘Webstats’. That was the first time I get to know that I can know how many people are comming to my site.
For few days I was thrilled to know about this. [...]
Are You A Google Junkie
Posted on Jun.03, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
Google this, Google that, Google Google Google…….
My name is Debbie and I am a Google PR Junkie.
I have to laugh at myself as I say that. Because to me I was a Google PR junkie. I had to know what my PR was everyday! Sometimes more than once a day (ok, ok, i’ll admit) everyday I checked at least four times a day to make sure my PR was still the same or maybe to see if it had moved [...]
Ten Day Plan to Online Sales
Posted on May.24, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
Recently one of my students asked a great question: We have a product we want to sell online – and we need to make money fast. We already have a domain name. What should I do in the next 10 days? Here are some ideas: 1. Take *good* photographs of your product. The picture will allow you to charge more, so get a great digital camera and take those pictures. 2. Write a good short sales letter that paints the [...]
Marketing Your Web Site the Right Way is a Worthwhile Investment
Posted on May.19, 2009, under Web Traffic No Comments
I admit it, I have a problem. I’m a control freak and I like to do things myself because “I’ll do it right and save money at the same time”.
This philosophy has gotten me in trouble more than once. Most recently, I broke my blog. Because I knew enough to know that I didn’t know how to set up a blog, I paid somebody to do it all for me. At the same time, I know enough about web programming [...]
